From growing up on a tropical island without TV to coaching acclaimed actors and professional speakers to excel

About Jennifer White

LIFELONG CREATIVE, ACCREDITED COACH AND CURIOUS HUMAN

Hello, I’m Jennifer. I help professional actors and speakers excel on stage, camera and microphone with elite voice and performance craft — elevating their career, confidence and success.

So how did I get here?

For over 30 years, I’ve immersed myself in the world of human expression, voice, storytelling and authentic performance craft for live and recorded work.

My lifelong love of creativity and vocal craft mixed with a deep curiosity for how we humans express ourselves has seen me undertake decades of training, gain degrees in performance and voice, and work across local and global projects.

My coaching has been heard in major productions for Sony Pictures, Netflix and Sydney Theatre Company, on ABC and Nine Network, in Opening Ceremonies broadcast to millions, and in the professional work of my private clients.

Background: Where It All Began

What started as a bilingual childhood speaking English and French evolved into over a decade as a professional performer, and my coaching career that spans oceans, voices and projects.

I was born in Sydney, Australia and grew up from a young age in Vanuatu (a South Pacific island off the east coast of Australia). We went to French schools and my ears swam in the global voices, languages and music surrounding us.

With no TV on the island, mimicking my parents’ vast record collection was a source of pure creative joy and my first deep dive into the wonder of professional expression and the art of vocal storytelling. These formative years had a major impact on my values, creativity and work today.

Accreditations: NIDA Graduate

Back in Australia, my love of sounds and stories evolved into a love of the arts. I trained professionally as an actor, singer and voice-over artist, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Acting) degree, then a Post Graduate Diploma in Voice from the renowned National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), Sydney. I undertook decades of singing training and a voice-over course at the Australian Film, Television & Radio School (AFTRS).

Expert: Stage, Screen & Recorded Delivery

As a performer, I toured Australia and New Zealand performing in 2,000 seat theatres, was the Guest Singer at a VIP Dinner for the Prime Minister of Australia, and recorded hundreds of voice-overs for leading brands.

As a coach with over 25 years’ experience, I’ve coached films, TV series, plays, musicals and recordings, training acclaimed actors including Rose Byrne, Sam Neill, Rachel Griffiths and David Wenham. I’ve lectured at prestigious training institutions, including 12 years as a Voice Lecturer and performance coach at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) on the BFA Acting and MFA Voice degrees. I also ran in-depth courses at NIDA for members of the public seeking professional voice and performance training.

In 2010, I expanded my services to coach non-actor professional speakers and groups for live and recorded projects and large-scale events. From keynote speakers, authors and therapists to event presenters, lifestyle educators and meditation teachers, I coach creative, holistic and values-led professionals to deliver with craft and confidence.

Across these years and projects, I’ve walked in a performer, speaker, educator and business owner’s shoes and excelled in the very fields I guide others in. It’s a joy to collaborate with individuals and organisations across stage, camera and microphone projects. Time and again, this work truly resonates and transforms locally and globally.

My coaching philosophy isn't just about delivery and performance improvement. It's about embodying professional excellence with authenticity, creativity, craft and joy.
